Richmond Philharmonic Orchestra to Perform du Bois’ ‘Fanfare‘. Alexandra du Bois’ Fanfare’ was written in 2008 in honor of the first African American to hold office of President of the United States and was premiered by the Anchorage Symphony. The work has since been performed dozens of times by orchestras throughout the United States.
