Für Pamuk is one of several of du Bois’ works written for the traditional classical invocation of the term “chamber music. At the heart of chamber music is the home (chambers within it); during this, the start of the decolonization of classical music, du Bois completes commissions from individuals commissioning chamber works for performance for private events in homes (or chambers) and other small, intimate spaces, often honoring the commissioners or those loved or adored by the commissioners; these works of du Bois acknowledge the revered works of the classical cannon written for the same or similar purposes by white European men during the Common Practice Period.
